This weekend was definitely one to remember. We received over 2 feet of snow in the DC area. Piles of snow cover the ground and it's not over yet. We are suppose to have another big storm tomorrow. Brett has all his classes canceled for today and tomorrow and possibly longer. The Blizzard 2010 has even made it into Wikipedia ...crazy.
We had a lot of fun with neighbors and friends enjoying a break from the regular routine. Fun memories have been made and many snowmen built.
El Jefe...the Snowman. Our good friends, Tom and Sharise, were sweet and had us over to their house to play games and enjoy the snow. It was so nice to enjoy the storm with such great people. We had such a good time. Thanks for awesome memories!
Beginnings of the snowman. Brett, Sharise and Tom shoved mounds of snow to build him.
Abby exploring the snow. :)
Emily and Mallory are Abby's best friends. She loves playing with them. Here they are helping with the snowman.
Placing the ice hat on top.
Mallory measuring El Jefe, the Snowman.
Abby didn't like being cold.
Lee Highway. Normally a VERY busy street.
Broken branches from trees, and many without power (we were lucky to have it the whole time...gratefully).
Our apartment!Abby singing to Hannah Montana at the Andersons' during the snowstorm.
Always wants to wear her swimsuit, even in a blizzard. She did decide to wear her coat in this video. What a combo. Crazy girl. She is not a fan of the cold, she would prefer the sunshine and the beach.

holy cow that's a lot of snow!
Wow, that is a lot of snow. I love El Jefe's hat... very nice! And Abby singing... and her swimsuit. What an adventure!!
I have been thinking a lot about you guys this past week. That's a lot of Snow! Sam was jealous when he saw the pictures of your snowman. We made one once this season and it looked like it was melting because it was so small. We would love to have a little snow but I don't envy you and really hope that you guys are doing okay. Stay safe and just enjoy the time away from regular life. Abby is so cute!!!!!
I can't believe the snow you guys have received this year. Crazy! Just know I'm covered in snow too. We didn't have 26 inches, but we have had 2 16 inch storms and CONSTANT snow on the ground since the beginning of Dec. + freezing temperatures and lots of blizzards. Winter is a joy.
My sister and bro-in-law are moving into Oakwood in 2 weeks. Look for them - the Smylies.
Love El Jefe!!! So creative and fun.
You've documented it well. I love el jefe. That is one GINORMOUS snowman! And so cute!
Enjoy having hubby home :) And enjoy the snow :) That snow man is so cute!
Wow! That picture of Abby on the sidewalk next to the snow high over her head is crazy! We sure have been thinking about you guys when we watch the news. What a winter to remember!
So cute! I love the pic of Abby next to the snow mound... seriously, this is so insane! I'm not complaining, though, since we've had our power the whole time and I've had full dibs (pretty much! :) on Robert his whole week. Yay for GW cancelling classes... of course, they'll have to make them up sometime... but I'm not thinking of that now.
WOW! all that snow is crazy!! I'm glad you guys seem to be making the best out of the craziness! That snowman is awesome - I am so impressed with it!!
