Taste of Country

Recently, Abby has become quite fond of a particular book 'All Things Bright and Beautiful.' It was a cute book my parents gave me for Easter when I was in college studying to be a teacher. I love childrens' books and have a little collection. I came across this one a month ago and thought I would read it to Abby. Ever since then, she won't put it down. It has become a family favorite for sure. She asks me to read it to her everyday and will point at all the animals as we read. Because of her love for this book, we decided to get out of the 'big city' for a bit to spend the morning with our good friends at Frying Pan Farm. Ahhh...a little taste country does the heart good. Abby LOVED seeing all the farm animals and kept waving to them, saying 'hi'. The trip was definitely a success! I have a feeling we will be returning soon to our 'small taste of country,' hidden in the big city.

Lovin' it!

Watch out, here she comes! Keep your eyes on the road...

All Things Bright and Beautiful
By Cecil Frances Alexander

(You will probably recognize this as a song.)

All things bright and beautiful,
All creatures great and small,

All things wise and wonderful,
The Lord God made them all.

Each little flower that opens,

Each little Bird that sings,

He made their glowing colors,
He made their tiny wings.

The purple-headed mountain,
The river running by,

The sunset and the morning
That brightens up the sky,

The cold wind in the winter,
The pleasant summer sun,

The ripe fruits in the garden,
He made them every one.

The tall trees in the greenwood,
The meadows where we play,

The rushes by the water,
We gather every day...

He gave us eyes to see them,
And lips that we might tell

How great is God Almighty,
Who has made all things well.

The book says it the best. :)

'Please Don't Go!'

Can you see how happy Abby is with her Aunt? She has been in heaven. I love seeing her so happy. We didn't want her to go. It was hard to see Laura leave. Abby was upset the whole way home from the airport saying, 'Sippy(Laura) Bye, Bye'. When we got home she started searching the house calling for her. Now to face the 'withdrawal' stage of all the sweet lovin' she got this week. (Laura, you might be receiving a lot of phone calls from a little girl. )
Thanks for coming to visit our crazy place. We made some awesome memories. We love you and we can't wait to see you again soon. xoxo

Jealous?

View

Ahh...Spring. I love this time of year. Everything blooms back to life after the cold of Winter, it's beautiful. Not to make anyone in Utah jealous, but it has been 80 degrees. It's been an awesome week and the best part is, my sister is here... Bliss. We LOVE having Aunt Laura around. Abby is quite attached to her, she keeps running around calling her 'Sippy' or 'Suppy'. We might 'accidentally' miss her flight back home and keep her here. :)

True Feelings

This picture of Abby cracks me up. Here are her 'true feelings' of the Easter Egg hunt. I asked her to smile and she did this...

Rough day apparently.

Easter 2010

Happy Easter! We hope you all had a great Easter. We really enjoyed ours. It was nice to relax and enjoy the quiet Sunday watching General Conference. The talks we inspiring and it really helped us remember what life is all about. It also helped us remember the things we want to do better. We are so grateful for our Savior and all He did for us.

Here are a few fun memories of the weekend...

The big Easter Egg Hunt in Falls Church. I had a hard time getting her to smile. She woke up on the wrong side of the bed. I think she had fun in the end.
