Happy 2nd Birthday Abby!

Dear Abby,

We can't believe you are two today! Time flies. These past two years have been so much fun watching you grow. You have such a tender heart and a lot of determination.

It's fun to watch you clomp around the house dressed in princess pj's, wearing Mommy's shoes. You love to mimic what we are doing and will either 'help' load dishes or make dinner when we are doing it. When Mommy is cooking, you will often go cook up something for the family with your plastic food. You're a good cook. :)

You love playing with friends and being with people. Something you like to do with your friends is run around at the park and go down the slides. You could spend HOURS at the park.

It's fun to hold you in our laps and read to you. You like to turn the pages to see what is going to happen next. You love books.

Something fun about you is you love to DANCE. Mommy wishes she had coordination to dance like you. :) When we turn on music in the car, you will lift your hands up, kick your legs and start moving to the beat. Twirling is an Abby favorite. You can spin in circles until you're dizzy. We love watching you dance.

We love your giggles, squeals, hugs and kisses. You are our little princess and we are so glad you came into our family.

We love you! Happy Birthday!

xoxo

Love,
Daddy and Mommy

2 Years Old

Here are a few things about Abby at 2 years old:

*Loves princesses, and her favorite is Belle.
*Glitter, dresses, pink and anything with sparkles would describe Abby well.
*She has quite the shoe obsession.
*Favorite food: mac n cheese, grapes and anything with chocolate 'chalky.'
*She loves playing with Daddy. They will chase each other around the house and she'll ride on his back. She is definitely a Daddy's girl.
*Abby loves to run around and play on the slides at the park.
*Loves to dance to the music and shake her hips.
*Enjoys books

Princess Party

Abby was in heaven today. My parents and sister threw her a really fun princess party for her birthday. It was cute to watch Abby with all her friends. We even had a special visit from Belle.
Thanks for coming everyone and for a great party!

Abby loved listening to Belle read a story.

Faces from the party... too cute!

The impressive Belle Cake my sister Laura made. Abby adores her 'Sippy.'

Videos from the party... dancing with Belle and blowing (spitting) out candles. (Good thing it was a cupcake and not the cake.)

Our New Favorite Place in Virginia

RICHMOND

Why?

Dave and Alissa moved here!!

We are so excited to have family close by for the next 2 years.
Congrats on getting accepted to VCU!

We couldn't wait to see them, so Abby and I took a quick trip down South. They have a really cute apartment and there were lots of fun things to see. Abby loved being with her Aunt and Uncle. Alissa even let her try on her jewelry...she was in heaven.

One of our favorite places was a botanical garden in the heart of Richmond...BEAUTIFUL!

I love these photos that Dave caught on camera.

Sooo pretty!

Dave has finally received a nickname, thanks to Abby. She loves her 'Dude'.

Enjoying the gardens...a 'must see' in Richmond.

Alissa and Abby exploring the cave.

The ultimate favorite of the trip...the Children's Farm.

We couldn't tell who was more excited about seeing the animals, Dave or Abby.

We had so much fun! LOVE YOU GUYS! Thanks for a GREAT time. Can't wait to see you again. It's nice to know you are only a 90 minute drive away.

4th of July 2010

The 4th of July is one of my favorite holidays. I love the watermelon, BBQ's, parades and fireworks, but most of all it's really nice to celebrate our great country and our freedom. We are so grateful for those who currently give and have given their lives to keep our nation free. Thanks so all those who serve!

"Land of the Free, Home of the Brave"
We are definitely free because of the brave.

Our church had nice ceremony to celebrate Independence Day on Saturday morning. There was also a yummy breakfast and mini-parade for the kids in the parking lot. We had a good time.

Abby very focused on her driving with her friend Hayden on the back.

On the 4th, we just relaxed and later watched the DC fireworks with friends at the Air Force Memorial. There was even a nice concert being played by the Air Force. We had a great time with friends and the traffic home wasn't that bad. Definitely something we will do again. Happy Independence Day! We are proud to be Americans!

Waiting for the fireworks to start...

Pulling her 'What?!' pose in this picture, which I get often. She is about to get in trouble. This little girl has some attitude.

Here is a clip of the 2010 DC Fireworks...

Cousins!

My cousin Sara and her cute family passed through DC a few weeks ago. It was so good to see them! They have an awesome family and we had a great time with them. We spent the day at Mount Vernon and Abby was in heaven hanging out with her cousins. Thanks for letting us spend the day with you! We hope to see you again soon.

Abby was attached to Lindsey and wouldn't leave her side.

Loving time with Amy. They were so good to Abby, no wonder she cried when they left.
