The other day it rained or better said, it poured! We love a good rainstorm. It reminds me of the Dominican Republic. I remember walking down the street in complete daylight and all of the sudden a dark cloud would appear and I knew I was in for a good shower. In the Dominican I didn't use an umbrella for rain because honestly there was no point. It poured so hard I was going to get soaked either way. My umbrella was used for the sun. :) Often times when it rained, the people in the streets would come out of their homes and shower in it, complete with shampoo and soap. They would stand under the drain pipes as a shower head and bathe. The kids would also turn the street and gutters into a waterslide. We would be finishing up with the morning studies and see kids flying by our porch in the gutter, dressed in nothing but their briefs or completely bare. Haha. It was quite the sight. Everyone loved a good downpour.
Well, the East Coast has some pretty sweet rainstorms, and this downpour had the girls wired. The thunder started rattling the window panes and they were climbing up to see what was going on. There is something exciting about a good storm. When the thunder stopped, the girls immediately wanted to go play in the awesome puddles they could see from the window. So, why not? Daddy was having a late night and nothing was holding us back from getting a little muddy, especially with bath time right around the corner. The girls were in heaven and splashed to their hearts content. Nothing beats bath time in the mud, that's for sure. It made it extra fun to have Aunt Sippy with us. She knows how to have a good time.
