Wildflowers 2015

Wild flowers are my favorite. We've made a tradition that every year we go enjoy the wild flowers and take pictures. When we lived in DC, we would go see the Cherry Blossoms, walk through Magnolia Trees and take picture in the fields of tulips by the Iwo Jima Memorial. When we moved to Texas, we learned that the BlueBonnet flowers are a highlight, so we like to head to Brushy Creek Lake Park by our home and run through the fields of flowers. The kids especially like flying kites with some good wind by Brushy Creek Lake. It's fun to look back on pictures and see how the kids have changed through the years.

Mason was on the brink of learning to walk.

Mason Turns One

This little guy is all smiles and happiness. He knows how to get people to laugh and is a definite 'crowd pleaser.' We could snuggle his cubby face all day long. Mason is not one to hold still and he loves to discover everything and anything, usually by putting it in his mouth. One of his favorite things in the world is a ball. Give this boy a ball and his world is complete. The fact he loves sports balls makes his father extremely happy, hoping that as he gets older they can enjoy sports together. Some small things I always want to remember about this baby boy is his deep laugh, curled toes, kissing his little nose and how his will cuddle up to me when he is tired.

He keeps us busy but when he looks at us with those baby blue eyes, we melt.

There are beautiful wild flowers that bloom around his birthday and we took time to go and check them out…with a few pictures.

Right after this pose he was straight up and stand, trying to 'ride the wave' of the rocker. This kid has no fear.

Bugz Program

Abby's 1st grade class performed in a Bugz Program. She is part of the group at school called, Singing Stars and loves it. It was fun to watch her really get into the songs. These kids were entertaining for sure.

February 2015

I really better post about last year since it's already February 2016! I'm learning that keeping up with a blog and littles is a bit tricky, BUT I do want to document our life so we can look back.

February 2015 was a CRAZY month, it would be deemed as our month of travel for sure. It started with a fun visit from my sister, Laura. She wanted to see the kids and get a taste of Austin before she headed out on her mission. We had a great time showing her the highlights of the city, and many of those highlights involved food. :) We made a quick trip to the River Walk in San Antonio and visited the temple. We savored the time we had with her and it went all too quickly.

Right when Laura headed home, Kate, Mason and I flew out to DC to see Dave and Alissa in Richmond and my friend, Amy, with her new baby. It was so great to be with family and have some time with 'Dude and Lissa.' A definite highlight was going to see the ducks and feeding them bread. Dave and Alissa live in a beautiful forest town that has a small pond in the middle. Mason couldn't get enough of the ducks. I could move to Southern Virginia in a heartbeat if Brett could find a job that didn't consume his life. Virginia is so charming, plus, it's even better to have family there.

After a fun trip to DC and Virginia, we flew home quickly to host some Valentine parties and then it was back to the airport. Mason and I flew out to Utah to see my sister off on her Mission. I'm so glad we had the chance to be with her that last week. It's crazy to think that it's been a year since she left and she has had incredible experiences that have blessed her life and the people there.

February was a whirlwind of events but lots of memories were made and we got to see lots of people we love.
