Giving Thanks!

I love traditions. Thanksgiving can't be complete without the Macy's Day parade, the Turkey Bowl, cooking rolls and pies and eating all day. Yum! I love this time of year. There is so much we have to be thankful for, the list could go on and on. We are very blessed! I think something we are particularly thankful for today is family and friends. We want to wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving! May you all enjoy some yummy turkey, a good game of football and family. :)

Exhaustion

This picture about sums it up. Poor Abby was so tired she collapsed while eating her vegetable soup. I wish there was a way we could have a 'National Nap Day,' where everything just stopped for a few hours and everyone could just sleep...oh how nice that would be.

Meet Emmett II

When we were in Utah Abby became attached to Laura's goldfish. She would go up to the fish bowl and talk to, whom she named, 'Emmett'. Last week, Suppy told of us that Emmett was found floating at the top of his bowl...sad. In honor of Emmett, we figured we would go and get Abby a fish of her own, so we ventured off to Pet's Mart in search for a goldfish.
Abby is so excited to now have her very own pet. Emmett II sits on her dresser and she loves saying 'hi' to her new friend. Lets hope he stays alive.

Picking out her fish.

Dancing Queen

We turn on music and Abby's shakes those hips. She's following in Aunt Suppy's footsteps. :)

Waddling Duck

We had a wonderful Halloween! Abby was a duck this year and I must admit, she looked pretty darn cute. (Thanks Nana for the cool costume!!!) I just had to laugh as I watched her waddle around with a very padded rear end. She LOVED all the attention she got when wearing her costume.
The morning began a cloudy sky and a little howling wind...the setting was perfect for a Halloween Day.
To start the night off, we had friends over for a Halloween Dinner and made Cafe Rio. (Thanks for the recipes Connie and Cindy!) Yum! After dinner, we headed to the streets. Abby was so excited to get out and be a part of the action. She loved the PUMPKINS! Every time she saw a pumpkin, she was go right up close, would crouch down with her ducky tail poking out, and peer into the pumpkins' face and say, 'Ooohhh' ... 'Wow'. I loved watching her discover the fun of Halloween.

The Haunted House at the Bishop's house. Abby was brave.

Visiting the Keller's while Trick or Treating. They are the missionaries in our ward and do an amazing job. They'll be leaving next month and we're sad to see them go.

Fun with Brenda

I told her to pose for the camera in her duck suit and this is what she did...A picture says 1,000 words.

This picture shows a big reason why Abby is a duck for Halloween. Dave and Abby bonding time. And yes, our child is topless at a public pond...it was the cupcakes fault. :)

I personally think this movie of Abby is hilarious because she gets scared and screams at the end if you listen closely.

Waddling through the halls after the Trunk or Treat. I had to post this because I think she looked so funny with her butt wagging.

Costume Parade at the Trunk or Treat. Ignore my loud voice. There was a lot of noise in the auditorium. You may want to turn the volume down. :) oh well. :)

Pumpkin Carving 2009

We had a great time carving pumpkins tonight! Abby loved digging through the seeds and guts. She was babbling the whole time, very excited about making her own pumpkin.

What do you think? Who carved what pumpkin? Let 's see how well you know us. :)

Pumpkin #1: 'Kit Cat' (Designed in honor of 'Kit the Cat.' This is a facial expression we frequently see. )

Pumpkin #2: 'Guy Smiley'

Pumpkin #3: ' Teethy Grin '

We LOVE everything about PUMPKINS, from making food to carving faces!
