Waddling Duck

We had a wonderful Halloween! Abby was a duck this year and I must admit, she looked pretty darn cute. (Thanks Nana for the cool costume!!!) I just had to laugh as I watched her waddle around with a very padded rear end. She LOVED all the attention she got when wearing her costume.
The morning began a cloudy sky and a little howling wind...the setting was perfect for a Halloween Day.
To start the night off, we had friends over for a Halloween Dinner and made Cafe Rio. (Thanks for the recipes Connie and Cindy!) Yum! After dinner, we headed to the streets. Abby was so excited to get out and be a part of the action. She loved the PUMPKINS! Every time she saw a pumpkin, she was go right up close, would crouch down with her ducky tail poking out, and peer into the pumpkins' face and say, 'Ooohhh' ... 'Wow'. I loved watching her discover the fun of Halloween.

The Haunted House at the Bishop's house. Abby was brave.

Visiting the Keller's while Trick or Treating. They are the missionaries in our ward and do an amazing job. They'll be leaving next month and we're sad to see them go.

Fun with Brenda

I told her to pose for the camera in her duck suit and this is what she did...A picture says 1,000 words.

This picture shows a big reason why Abby is a duck for Halloween. Dave and Abby bonding time. And yes, our child is topless at a public pond...it was the cupcakes fault. :)

I personally think this movie of Abby is hilarious because she gets scared and screams at the end if you listen closely.

Waddling through the halls after the Trunk or Treat. I had to post this because I think she looked so funny with her butt wagging.

Costume Parade at the Trunk or Treat. Ignore my loud voice. There was a lot of noise in the auditorium. You may want to turn the volume down. :) oh well. :)

Pumpkin Carving 2009

We had a great time carving pumpkins tonight! Abby loved digging through the seeds and guts. She was babbling the whole time, very excited about making her own pumpkin.

What do you think? Who carved what pumpkin? Let 's see how well you know us. :)

Pumpkin #1: 'Kit Cat' (Designed in honor of 'Kit the Cat.' This is a facial expression we frequently see. )

Pumpkin #2: 'Guy Smiley'

Pumpkin #3: ' Teethy Grin '

Picking out her pumpkin...

We LOVE everything about PUMPKINS, from making food to carving faces!

Happy Birthday Brett!

HaPpY BiRtHdAy BEAR! You are the sweetest husband and an amazing dad. I love you dearly! I am so glad you were born.

The Headless Horseman Rides

We had a wonderful time in Sleepy Hollow, New York last week. Cory and Sarah introduced us to the idea and we are so glad they did. As you all know, Sleepy Hollow is famous for the story of the Headless Horsemen, so we thought it would be fitting to go there around Halloween. It was fun, quaint little town and there was lots to see. We loved getting away from the big city for a while to enjoy nature and see some beautiful sites.
A big hit for the trip was the Pumpkin Blaze just outside of town. There were THOUSANDS of pumpkins carved and displayed, it was quite the site. Abby kept saying "WOW" the whole time we walked through the blaze of pumpkins. Definitely a place we want to see again.
I was great to be with friends and enjoy the Fall.

Happy baby.

Abby LOVES cats. My parents cat 'Kit' got her interested.

Abby looking up at me from her stroller as we walked through Irving's land.

A tree on Irving's land that existed during the Revolution...cool.

Beautiful home on his land.
