The Throne

CONQUERED!

After some tears, a whole lot of Resolve Carpet Cleaner, many loads of laundry, books galore and a bit of chocolate, Miss Abby is now a Big Girl! She loves to model her new princess panties from Grandma.

Way to go Abby!
It's a beautiful day.

2 Months

Baby Kate is now 2 months old. The time has just flown by these past few months. She is growing up fast. We just love our little Katelyn. She is starting to smile lots and we are even getting a few laughs from her. Abby gets her to laugh quite a bit if she isn't mauling her. Little Kate has a really sweet temperament. We can't get enough of those cute cubby cheeks. She gets lots of big wet kisses at our house.

All clean after her bath

When she smiles we run for the camera.

She is not a huge fun of 'tummy time'.

She wanted to help with the dishes.
Our little girl is growin' up.

She got a new haircut, and I think it's pretty cute on her.

Global Warming

This friends, is global warming.

Shocking isn't it?

We thought it would be a mild winter this year in Northern Virginia. We are known to not get much snow here, and not many people are believing that anymore. Because we have not had much snow in the past (excluding 2010), people don't bother to get snow tires or chains. But added to that, many just plain don't know how to drive. All of this equals a complete disaster when it comes to snowflakes and people go nuts.

The place you really don't want to be during a snowstorm is on the road in DC. Cars 'slip slidin' away' and people stuck in traffic. This year, it took people 5-8 hours to drive less than ten miles. People were in gridlock, not even moving. Some decided to just ditch their cars, whether is was because they ran out of gas, got stuck, or just became fed up with the drive. Random cars were parked all over the in the road. It was a nightmare for a lot of people.
I do feel bad for those that were stuck in the nasty mess on the roads. But despite all the traffic every year, it sure is beautiful...

and can be really fun to play in...

(I have to do this someday.)

Abby had a wonderful time playing in the snow this year. She didn't want to come inside. She made two snowmen, and one of them was a baby one for Katelyn. She loved hanging around all the other kids in the neighborhood who were out of school because of it. She had a good time.

The Bird

We all know children love to discover the world. When they see new things, they like to point out the object to show everyone. They get so excited to share what they found. Well, Abby loves to point at all the great things she is learning. There is a slight problem with how she shares her discovery...she always points with her middle finger. We are trying to help her understand that she can't use that finger and it's a little hard for her to do. It must be the strongest finger on her hand. I guess we can say that we have a frequent sighting of 'the bird' at our house...oh boy. "Other finger Abby."

First Smiles

It's always fun to see the first smiles.
We love our Baby Kate.
