While traveling through Illinois we made a quick detour to Nauvoo, where we met up with our good friends Joe and Alyson. We enjoyed the historic sites in Nauvoo and Carthage, and a had a great experience in the temple.

This picture is at the banks of the Mississippi River, where the pioneers left their beautiful Nauvoo to head to Zion. The trail leading up to it is known as the 'Trail of Tears.'
